This project developed in stages. It began just before פסח Pesaḥ (Passover) in AM 5783 / 2023 CE, when I prepared a glossary to accompany the סדר seder. Seeing how a glossary could shift the frame, I started exploring different concepts. First, it was a simple series of decolonized glossaries that removed non-Jewish biases against עם ישראל Am Yisraʾel (the Jewish people). Next, it became a century-by-century history. Eventually, I reworked it into an on-this-day series. When that work grew to thousands of pages, I rebuilt it as an app.
