The United Nations observer organization moved its headquarters to חיפה HAIFA on June 26. The diary records דוד בן-גוריון DAVID BEN-GURION's return from the capital, reports on military discipline and earlier political and supply communications. Their record date does not make every reported act new today.

Which observer office moved?

The full study United Nations observers moved their headquarters to חיפה HAIFA. distinguishes the organization formerly based in Cairo from the mediator's own headquarters at Rhodes. The move is a dated administrative event, not evidence that the preceding truce violations had been resolved.1

What was reported about discipline?

The diary discusses problems involving a force estimated at roughly 250–400 men. A reported discipline problem does not establish that a whole battalion deserted. The source's range and organizational context must remain visible rather than becoming a precise invented number.2

Which meeting and shipments happened earlier?

The contact with داود عيسى DĀWŪD ʿĪSĀ belongs to June 24, as explained in A political meeting involved داود عيسى DĀWŪD ʿĪSĀ.. A telegram dated June 21 describes a coded movement the previous day. Other communications concern expected aircraft and shipments. Expectation, dispatch and arrival are separate stages; the diary date does not turn them into one June 26 delivery.3

What is the difference between provisions sent and received?

A report describing five thousand tons sent during June 18–26 measures dispatch over a period. It is not the same as the earlier account of 2,800 tons received by June 24. A separate communication about available or delivered provisions has its own dates. These sources cannot establish a single new daily receipt by simple subtraction.4

Today's recap ends the ten new civil dates supplied by this intake. Its reports preserve continuing state organization and international supervision, with the earlier dates retained wherever the record supplies them. No completed purchase, delivery, evacuation or final casualty count is inferred from an expectation.

How is this dated?

The public Ivrit route uses the standard Gregorian-to-Hebrew calendar conversion; the event evidence and sunset qualification follow. This is Day 210 of the 599-day civil-date series: 1948-06-26. 26 June 1948 is the supported civil date. The daytime date is י״ט בסיון ה׳תש״ח 19th 𝑜𝑓 Sivan, AM 5708; after local sunset it is כ׳ בסיון ה׳תש״ח 20th 𝑜𝑓 Sivan, AM 5708. This is the civil-day recap. Its component sections distinguish occurrences, receipt of reports, earlier events and future plans; a register slot is not proof of every hour. 5

Guided reflections

  • Why must provisions dispatched over several days remain distinct from provisions received?
  • How does the headquarters move differ from resolving the preceding truce violations?
