צה״ל ẒAHAL (the Israel Defense Forces) completed the Little Triangle operation and reopened the coastal road. A new aviation command decision followed days of consultation. Military gains, the displacement of civilians and the responsibilities of an independent state remained part of one wartime history.

What happened before إجزم IJZIM signed surrender?

The reproduced log records willingness to surrender at 05:30, bombing at 09:30, road inspection at 11:30 and the headman’s arrival to arrange and sign surrender at 14:20. Liberation of the Little Triangle. examines the unresolved question of what the air command knew. A willingness message is not a completed surrender, and finding an empty village does not establish voluntary departure. 1

What did the later investigation establish?

UN observers later confirmed forced evacuation and destruction of عين غزال AYN GHAZAL and جبع JABA after evacuation. The report located more than 8,000 villagers and gave fewer than 130 killed or missing, rejecting inflated massacre and capture claims. These are later investigative figures, not a July 26 headcount or 130 verified deaths. 2

How was aviation reorganized?

דוד בן-גוריון DAVID BEN-GURION decided to build the air force as a distinct branch subordinate to the chief of staff, while preserving operational integration during the war. Reorganization of the air force of מדינת ישראל MEDINAT YISRAʾEL. explains the qualifications and the difference between decision and implementation. 3

What did the espionage dispatch prove?

JTA reported that five nationals of the English Empire were being held on suspicion of espionage. The dispatch documents detention and allegations, not guilt. Their legal and evidentiary cases remain separate from the day’s military gains. 4

How is this dated?

TJD uses the fixed Hebrew calendar for Gregorian civil-date conversion. This is Day 240 of the 599-day civil-date series: 1948-07-26. Its daytime public route is י״ט בתמוז ה׳תש״ח 19th 𝑜𝑓 Tamuz, AM 5708; after local sunset the Hebrew date is כ׳ בתמוז ה׳תש״ח 20th 𝑜𝑓 Tamuz, AM 5708. The route identifies the recap, not the occurrence date of every component. The sections distinguish occurrence from dispatch, issue date, retrospective diary report and later investigation. 5

Guided reflections

  • How does the surrender log sharpen the question of command knowledge?
  • Which later evidence establishes civilian consequences beyond the military result?
