The editorial note to an American diplomatic file cites an Amman telegram dated September 26 at 13:00. It reports جمال الحسيني JAMĀL AL-ḤUSAYNI saying the new government would give Palestinian Arabs a legal position in the League and demonstrate determination to continue fighting יהודים YEHUDIM. This is a reproduced diplomatic attribution, not the complete telegram or a verbatim Arabic transcript. ²

The stated purpose helps explain the political challenge facing מדינת ישראל MEDINAT YISRAʾEL. It does not prove that every Palestinian Arab supported the government or that it exercised the authority it claimed.
