The Jaffa-based antizionist newspaper فلسطين FALASTIN placed a report on its front page under the headline الوكالة اليهودية تنذر هيئة الامم وتهدد العرب! (The Jewish Agency Warns the United Nations and Threatens the Arabs!). Its separate deck, في بيان الحاخام الناطق باسمها أمام اللجنة الخاصة بفلسطين, referred to Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver speaking for the Jewish Agency before the United Nations committee considering the future of ארץ ישראל EREẒ YISRAʾEL. The report's opening is datelined Lake Success on 2 October 1947. It presents Silver's claim of the historical Jewish connection to the land and his challenge to British reluctance to implement a United Nations decision. The threatening language is the newspaper's headline, not a quotation from Silver.1

The United Nations' contemporaneous press account identifies the speaker as Silver, the forum as the Ad Hoc Committee on Palestine, and the address as given on 2 October. Its summary says the Jewish Agency opposed a minority plan that would keep יהודים YEHUDIM a permanent minority and was prepared to recommend partition subject to further discussion. This official account corroborates the speech's date and context; it is not independent evidence for when فلسطين FALASTIN printed its report.2

How is this dated?

The National Library of Israel's Jrayed archive identifies this as the front-page article in فلسطين FALASTIN, issue 6730, dated Friday, 3 October 1947. That civil daytime publication date converts to י״ט בתשרי ה׳תש״ח 19th 𝑜𝑓 Tiŝrei, AM 5708 in the fixed Hebrew calendar. The issue heading, page-one contents, article heading, and article's internal 2 October dateline were checked together. The earlier inherited link ending `.2.8` now opens a different report in the same issue; the target report's current persistent link ends `.2.11`. The issue date and calendar conversion support the article's publication on י״ט בתשרי ה׳תש״ח 19th 𝑜𝑓 Tiŝrei, AM 5708. Silver spoke on 2 October, which corresponds to י״ח בתשרי ה׳תש״ח 18th 𝑜𝑓 Tiŝrei, AM 5708 by daytime conversion; his speech is a separate event. The paper's page-four continuation was not fully collated, but no competing publication date appeared in the evidence inspected.345
