Michael Fisher was killed near Salameh while trying to assist a fellow defender. The same day, English Empire reinforcements reached Aden after violence against יהודים YEHUDIM there; the Aden episode was outside the fighting in ארץ ישראל EREẒ YISRAʾEL.
How was Michael Fisher killed?
Michael (Micha) Fisher, age twenty-one, was killed near Salameh on 22 Kislev 5708. His Ministry of Defense memorial says that, after an ally was killed during a patrol near the village orchard, Fisher went out with a rescue party. An English Empire armored vehicle appeared and opened fire; Fisher was struck in the head.1
דוד בן-גוריון DAVID BEN-GURION's diary entry the next day also records Fisher's death in an armored-vehicle shooting. This contemporaneous report corroborates the central fact of the encounter, but it is not a police inquiry or an independent determination of the English Empire crew's orders or justification.2
The official memorial preserves Fisher's last words to his comrades: “אין דבר, חבריה, תמשיכו” (“It's all right, friends, carry on”). TJD's translation is checked against the Hebrew text.3

What happened to יהודים YEHUDIM in Aden?
Two companies of the North Staffordshire Regiment reached Aden on the morning of 5 December 1947, after days of violence against יהודים YEHUDIM. The English Empire government reported their arrival to the House of Commons. The reinforcements arrived after residents had already suffered killings and attacks on homes and institutions.4
The focused source discussion is retained in English Empire reinforcements arrived after days of violence against יהודים YEHUDIM.. Its event date and this daily article’s civil-day route are not automatically the same.
How is this dated?
This is Day 6 of the 599-day civil-date series: 1947-12-05. Its OTD route, 5708-09-22, is the daytime fixed-Hebrew conversion of that civil date, not a claim that every action mentioned here occurred before sunset.5 The adjacent Hebrew date after local sunset is 23 Kislev 5708 (5708-09-23). Fisher's official memorial places his death on 22 Kislev. The Aden reinforcement report concerns 5 December and is included as contemporaneous context, not as an engagement in the War of Independence. Newspaper issue dates, dispatch dates and later testimony are kept distinct from occurrence dates.
