A group of armed יהודים YEHUDIM entered location://DayrAyyub and destroyed houses, according to a report cited in later village history. Separate road attacks near location://Yazur threatened the movement of fuel, but the individual deaths still require careful dating.
What happened in location://DayrAyyub?
On the civil date 21 December 1947, a group described as about twenty-five armed יהודים YEHUDIM entered the Arab village of location://DayrAyyub and blew up three houses. Khalidi’s account cites a New York Times report published the following day. That mediated contemporary report supports recording an armed attack on civilian structures, while the original police record and newspaper page have not been examined here. 1
The report does not establish how many people were inside each building, a verified casualty roll, or the exact military purpose of the raid. Nor does destruction of houses alone establish flight, an evacuation order, expulsion or denial of return. Later changes to the village’s population must be sourced and dated separately.

What was reported near location://Yazur?
Two men associated with Kibbutz location://Dorot were reported killed while transporting fuel near location://Yazur around 21 December 1947. A communal memorial from location://Dorot search result identifies Gideon Gelobter and assigns his death to 21 December, but the memorial page timed out during the supplied research. The second person’s name and death date have not been reconciled. This is therefore a reported attack with a partial victim identification, not a certified two-person death register.2
Fuel transport mattered to the ability of settlements of יהודים YEHUDIM to endure attacks and maintain ordinary services. The incident belongs to the struggle over roads and supply before independence. A JTA report in the following days is subsequent reportage; it does not fix the exact hour of the ambush or prove that both men died on the date of the newspaper issue.
How is this dated?
This is Day 22 of the 599-day civil-date series: 1947-12-21. Its OTD route, 5708-10-08, is the daytime fixed-Hebrew conversion of that civil date, not a claim that every action mentioned here occurred before sunset.3 The adjacent Hebrew date after local sunset is 9 Tevet 5708 (5708-10-09). The Dayr Ayyub attack is assigned to civil 21 December by later research citing a report printed the next day; its hour is unknown, so the 8 Tevet daytime route is provisional. The Yazur fuel-transport deaths are reported around 21 December without a reconciled pair of individual records. The report date cannot fix each death hour. Newspaper issue dates, dispatch dates and later testimony are kept distinct from occurrence dates.
