The national leadership prepared a conditional truce reply on 16 March while public protest over endangered medical access continued. A second attack on الحسينية AL-HUSAYNIYYA is assigned to the following night by the later village study.

What were the conditions for a truce?

דוד בן-גוריון DAVID BEN-GURION's diary records a late-evening cable and a reply accepting an effective truce subject to safeguards. These included security against reinforcement and protection of the partition decision. הסוכנות היהודית HAʾSOḪNUT HAʾYEHUDIT accepted a truce in principle, with conditions. treats the actual conditions and the following day's reportage. Acceptance with stated conditions was not an unconditional ceasefire already in force.1 2

What did transport and investment planning reveal?

The diary records a proposed investment of roughly £P2.1–2.5 million in the southern region and an inventory of about three hundred armored vehicles, some already committed to civilian supply. Another two hundred to two hundred and fifty still needed armoring. The minimum civilian supply requirement alone was estimated at three hundred to three hundred and fifty vehicles. These figures describe a shortage and proposed commitments; they are not expenditure receipts or proof that every listed vehicle was operational.3

What was reported about medical access?

JTA's 16 March bulletin described הדסה HADASSAH's protest over the danger to its services. The institution's later submission documented repeated incidents on different dates. The public protest and the 18 March international appeal, הדסה HADASSAH appealed for protection of its medical center., belong to a developing effort to protect patients and staff; neither proves that a protection arrangement was implemented.4

What did the bombing investigation produce?

A separate bulletin reported a warrant for the consular chauffeur accused in the Agency bombing. event://5708־12a־30־jewish־agency־bombing retains this as investigative aftermath. A warrant records an accusation, not a conviction, and its publication date need not be the exact date of the underlying judicial act.5

The same bulletin reports the killing by sniper fire of a fourteen-year-old girl among יהודים YEHUDIM in טבריה TEVERIYA. Her name is not supplied. The dispatch's relative dating needs the original bulletin and burial records before the occurrence date is considered independently established.6

Which village attack followed during the night?

The later study assigns a second פלמ״ח PALMAḤ attack to 16–17 March and cites a unit's large casualty claim. The original report remains uninspected. Second attack on الحسينية AL-HUSAYNIYYA. keeps it separate from the first attack and refuses to convert its claimed toll into a verified total.
