On 1 April 1948 the Security Council called for a truce and another Assembly session, while ההגנה HAʾHAGANA prepared a larger effort to feed ירושלים YERUŜALAYIM. A weapons delivery strengthened that effort. The supplied imperial transcription also records grave allegations concerning Arab civilian killings that require original-file verification.
What did the international votes accomplish?
The The Security Council called for a truce and a special Assembly session. called for negotiation and reconsideration of future government. They neither established an enforceable ceasefire nor repealed partition. The 6 April diplomatic telegram reports the 1 April decisions; its transmission date must not replace their occurrence date.1

The report assigns the decision to 1 April. יוסף טבנקין YOSEF TABENKIN instead dates it to the evening of 31 March after the failed convoy. The subsequent orders are variously dated 3 and 4 April. These records should be compared as stages and potentially distinct documents, rather than collapsed into an uncontested 1 April start. The main event://5708־12b־26־operation־נחשון־begins NAHSHON opened on 5–6 April.2 3
The institutional account dates an air delivery to the night leading into 1 April and reports 200 rifles,40 machine guns and 150,000 rounds. The cargo quantities remain retrospective figures until the manifest and reception record are compared. Arrival is not proof of distribution to every unit that day.4
