Ralph Bunche transmitted acceptance of convoy arrangements for the נגב NEGEV, while the defense and supply of ירושלים YERUŜALAYIM remained unresolved.
What did the convoy communication change?
S/1053 transmitted earlier acceptances, including the Egyptian October 24 cable and the October 18 letter by אבא אבן ABBA EBAN. Agreement to supervision did not establish that convoys reached the southern settlements. 1
What did the Jerusalem dispatch report?
JTA’s October 25 dispatch describes consultations by דוד בן-גוריון DAVID BEN-GURION with דב יוסף DOV YOSEF about the southern front and access to the Hebrew University and Hadassah Hospital on הר הצופים HAR HA’ẒOFIM. It dates the visit today, while the already documented diary visit belongs to October 24. The report is retained as October 25 reportage; a second journey is not inferred from the dispatch alone. The report also describes southern shelling and Henry Morgenthau’s visit. 2 The daytime was שמיני עצרת ŜEMINI AẒERET and שמחת תורה SIMḤAT TORA in ארץ ישראל EREẒ YISRAʾEL.
How is this dated?
This is Day 331 of the 599-day civil-date series: 1948-10-25. 3 Its public OTD route is the daytime Hebcal conversion כ״ב בתשרי ה׳תש״ט 22nd 𝑜𝑓 Tiŝrei, AM 5709, without the after-sunset option. This recap distinguishes actions on the civil day from continuing episodes, reconstructed ranges and later reportage. Events after sunset belong to כ״ג בתשרי ה׳תש״ט 23rd 𝑜𝑓 Tiŝrei, AM 5709; each focused study explains its own supported occurrence route.

- Why is acceptance of convoy terms different from proof of deliveries?
- What would establish whether the dispatch describes a second Jerusalem visit?
