דוד בן-גוריון DAVID BEN-GURION’s chronology dates the defeat of the main Arab Liberation Army positions and the advance into Lebanon to October 30–31. The later legal history describes the כרמלי CARMELI Brigade’s control of fourteen Lebanese villages. They are across the border and require a separate locality inventory; the number does not establish fourteen newly liberated places inside ארץ ישראל EREẒ YISRAʾEL. ^{1 2}

Carmel’s October 31 order establishes a command instruction interpreted by Morris as expulsive. Receipt and implementation vary by village, and the instruction does not prove a general order to murder. ³

The Hula massacre spans October 31 and November 1. The later charges concern 18 and 15 deaths respectively; the tribunal convicted the commander on the second count and acquitted on the first because of doubt. Prosecution and verdicts are later events. ⁴

JTA’s October 31 Iraqi report transmits claims from an al-Ahram correspondent about arrests and confiscations affecting יהודים YEHUDIM; the execution of Shafiq Ades was earlier, on September 23.
