The armistice draft was formally submitted to the UN Security Council, while reportage described a planned release from the עתלית ATLIT prisoner camp. Neither submission nor a release announcement established its later implementation.
Which stage had the draft reached?
Canada, France and Belgium submitted the revised armistice text on November 15. The November 14 telegram’s editorial notes distinguish submission from the following day’s adoption. The Resolution 62 study retains all three dates. The formal proposal offered negotiations as a way beyond the continuing truce; it did not itself sign an agreement for the belligerents. 1
What was proposed for prisoners at עתלית ATLIT?
JTA reported approximately 1,900 detainees and an intended repatriation the following week of about 800 people who were sick or outside military age, without a reciprocal release. The report uses projected timing; departure manifests are needed to establish release. Its description of 75 Palestinian Arabs claiming membership in the National Liberation League and assistance to the state records their asserted affiliation, not verified legal status or a completed decision to release them. 2
What pressure was being discussed?
A British memorandum considered military and regional pressure in the dispute over the נגב NEGEV. The American diplomatic record preserves proposals and assessments. It is not proof that every suggested deployment occurred or that a new British attack began that day. Negotiations and coercive options were being considered together while the state sought to preserve southern access. 3
How is this dated?
This is Day 352 of the 599-day civil-date series: 1948-11-15. The public daytime route is י״ג בחשוון ה׳תש״ט 13th 𝑜𝑓 Ḥeŝvan, AM 5709, checked by fixed-Hebrew-calendar conversion with Hebcal. 4 This article is the civil-day rundown, not a claim that all covered actions share that Hebrew occurrence date. Any event after local sunset belongs to י״ד בחשוון ה׳תש״ט 14th 𝑜𝑓 Ḥeŝvan, AM 5709. Exact clocks, derivative source dates and alternative timing are stated beside each material claim. No audited daily casualty or displacement total is established by these records.
