מדינת ישראל MEDINAT YISRAʾEL formally sought UN membership on the anniversary of the partition resolution. Statehood, diplomatic recognition and admission to an international organization remained distinct.

What did the state submit?

משה שרת MOŜE SHARETT signed the application and Charter declaration dated November 29. The letter asserted administrative consolidation, successful defense and recognition by nineteen governments. A same-day UN press release announced it. The application study distinguishes submission from December 2 circulation and Council consideration. 1 2

What other developments accompanied it?

JTA reported the People’s Republic of the People’s Republic of Bulgaria’s recognition after a weekend radio announcement, but the original cabinet decision date remains unheld. The פלמ״ח PALMAḤ chronology dates transfer of responsibility for סדום SEDOM to Southern Front on November 29; the road had already reopened. Geshur records house demolitions and exchanges of fire at Khirbat Za’quqa and Khirbat al-Kum during November 29–30. 3 4 5

What was proposed concerning frozen funds?

Another JTA report describes a British Foreign Office proposal to use frozen Israeli funds for Arab refugee compensation. Reporting a proposal does not establish that funds were seized or transferred that day. Original financial correspondence is required to determine authority and implementation. 6

How is this dated?

This is Day 366 of the 599-day civil-date series: 1948-11-29. TJD converts its daytime portion with the fixed Hebrew calendar to כ״ז בחשוון ה׳תש״ט 27th 𝑜𝑓 Ḥeŝvan, AM 5709. The slot does not assign every reported action to that Hebrew day. The application is dated November 29 in its own documents. Recognition was already reported by that date but is not assigned an invented cabinet clock. The raids’ Hebrew night is כ״ח בחשוון ה׳תש״ט 28th 𝑜𝑓 Ḥeŝvan, AM 5709. The November 29 administrative handover is separate from the November 25 convoy arrival. 7
