Colonial Secretary Arthur Creech Jones’s February 17 parliamentary answer expressly dates completion to February 11.
What establishes that the camp evacuation was complete?
Colonial Secretary Arthur Creech Jones’s February 17 parliamentary answer expressly dates completion to February 11. It reports 10,300 transferred since the January release decision. JTA reports 10,280 and a last departing group of 1,595. The full closure study retains the difference of twenty and keeps the final group inside the larger total. None of these figures means all those people travelled on February 11.12
Was departure the same event as arrival?
JTA describes leaving Xylotymbou, going to Famagusta and sailing aboard עצמאות AẒMAʾUT. Klir describes a welcome at חיפה HAIFA on February 11. The witnesses may concern successive stages on the same civil date, but the original manifest and port logs are needed for the arrival and disembarkation clock. Friendly farewells from guards and island residents do not erase the imperial detention policy or establish permanent housing and care for the arriving families.34
What followed the amnesty?
The heritage account reports release of נתן ילין־מור NATAN YELLIN-MOR and מתתיהו שמואלביץ MATITYAHU ŜMUELEVIẒ on February 11, following sentencing and the amnesty ordinance. The court study distinguishes the date conflict, legal exclusions and unheld custody register. Reintegration into elected politics was an institutional development; it does not prove that every former member of לח״י LEḤI abandoned independent violence. No newly occurring death can be securely assigned to February 11 from these records.5
How is this dated?
This is Day 440 of the 599-day civil-date series: 1949-02-11. TJD converts 1949-02-11 through the fixed Hebrew calendar to the daytime route י״ב בשבט ה׳תש״ט 12th 𝑜𝑓 Ŝʾvat, AM 5709. Sunset can begin the following Hebrew date, as qualified below.
This is Day 440 of the 599-day civil-date series, 1949-02-11. Its public OTD route is י״ב בשבט ה׳תש״ט 12th 𝑜𝑓 Ŝʾvat, AM 5709, the daytime fixed-Hebrew-calendar conversion in the series register. February 11 completion is independently established by the later government answer; arrival clocks and individual custody releases remain separately qualified. Events after local sunset use י״ג בשבט ה׳תש״ט 13th 𝑜𝑓 Ŝʾvat, AM 5709; this daily route does not date every reported incident. 6
