[Sayyid Qutb] This nature that appears here among the Jews is an ungrateful nature. It is the nature of narrow selfishness, living within a sphere of intense fanaticism, feeling that every good that reaches anyone else has been cut away from it, and failing to feel the great human bond that joins all humanity.

Thus the Jews lived in isolation.

They feel that they are a branch cut from the tree of life. They watch for calamities to befall humanity and harbor hatred toward people. They suffer the torment of rancor and spite and make humanity taste the consequence of that rancor through strife they kindle between peoples, wars they provoke in order to reap spoils and satisfy rancor that is never extinguished, and destruction they inflict upon people and that people inflict upon them. All this evil arose only from that hateful selfishness: “Out of envy that God should send His bounty to whomever He wills among His servants.”

The Jews’ black rancor against the Messenger of God, the Qur’an, and Islam made them prefer polytheism, although they were People of the Book, over Islam.

Today they prefer Communism or any other corrupt campaign over this religion. Indeed, they themselves create these atheistic doctrines (1) in order to fight Islam.

Muhammad ibn Ishaq said, with his chain of transmission from a group:
