[Qutb's text — collated Arabic] الخارج إلا هذه الخطوط العريضة التي يجب أن تنبع من واقع كل شعب والتي لا يجدي فيها الترقيع من هنا ومن هناك . وما تزال هذه اللجان في أول الطريق فمن الخير أن تتدارك ما فاتها . وأن تواجه الحقائق بشجاعة واخلاص وتجرد من الهوى الشخصي ذلك أن مستقبل أمة يستحق أن يتجرد كل إنسان من هواه الشخصي وأن يجعل الحكم في هذا لطبيعة الأمة ولواقعها الذي لا يمكن انكاره . ان هذا الذي نقوله بديهيات ما كان يجوز أن نحتاج إلى الحديث عنها . ولكن ماذا نصنع إذا كانت البديهيات في هذا البلد تحتاج إلى الأخذ والرد والجدال الطويل .

These committees are still at the beginning of the road, so it would be best for them to remedy what they have missed, to face the facts with courage and sincerity, and to free themselves from personal inclination. The future of a nation deserves that every person free himself from personal inclination and let the nation’s nature and its undeniable reality decide the matter.
What we are saying consists of self-evident truths that we should not have needed to discuss. But what can we do when self-evident truths in this country require give-and-take and lengthy debate?
